Cookies Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This Cookies Policy explains how Carlow Electrical Services uses cookies and similar technologies on https://carlowelectricalservices.ie. We take a privacy-first approach: we do not load any non-essential cookies or tracking until you give your consent, in line with the Irish ePrivacy Regulations and GDPR.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies (like browser local storage) can store small pieces of information too. They're widely used to make websites work and to understand how they're used.
Our approach: consent first
When you first visit, we show a consent banner. Nothing non-essential loads until you choose "Accept". If you decline, no analytics or map cookies are set. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which will bring the banner back.
Cookies and storage we use
Strictly necessary (always on)
- Consent preference — we store your cookie choice (and whether you've dismissed our emergency banner) in your browser's local storage so we don't ask again on every page. This contains no personal data and is essential to respect your choice.
Analytics — only with your consent
- Google Analytics 4 — if you accept, we use GA4 to understand how visitors use the site (for example, which pages are popular) so we can improve it. IP addresses are anonymised. These cookies are only set after you consent.
Maps — only with your consent / on request
- Google Maps — our Contact and Areas pages can show a map of where we're based. The map (and any cookies Google sets through it) only loads after you accept cookies, or when you explicitly click "Load map".
Anti-spam
We use Cloudflare Turnstile on our forms to prevent spam. It is a privacy-friendly alternative to traditional CAPTCHAs and is used only to confirm you're a real person when you submit a form.
Managing cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing this site's stored data. Most browsers also let you block cookies entirely, though parts of some websites may not work as a result.
