The SEAI EV home charger grant
As SEAI-approved installers, we carry out grant-eligible installations for you. Homeowners may qualify for an SEAI grant of €300 towards the cost of a home charger. Grant amounts and eligibility rules change from time to time, so we'll confirm the current grant and check you qualify before we start. To be eligible you'll generally need:
- Private, off-street parking at your home
- A charger from SEAI's list of eligible, registered chargers
- Installation by a Safe Electric registered electrician — like us
- Certificate 3 submitted to Safe Electric so SEAI can verify the work
Build note (verify before launch): The SEAI home charger grant is stated as €300 (reduced from €600 on 1 January 2024). Re-check the current figure at seai.ie before publishing, as grant amounts change.
Switching to electric is a big step, and a proper home charger makes it pay off every single day. We’ll make the whole process simple — from picking the right charger to claiming your grant and signing off the certified install.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get the SEAI grant?
Many homeowners qualify for the SEAI home charger grant (currently €300) if they have off-street parking and use a registered charger fitted by a Safe Electric electrician. We'll confirm the current grant and check your eligibility before any work begins.
Which chargers do you install?
We install all the leading, SEAI-registered EV chargers and will recommend the right one for your car, your home and your budget. We're not tied to one brand — we fit what's best for you.
Do I need a special connection?
Most homes can take a charger on a dedicated, protected circuit. We'll assess your supply and fuse board during the site visit and tell you straight away if anything needs upgrading first.
Can you install at a business?
Yes. We install workplace and commercial EV charging, from a single unit for staff or customers to multiple bays, and can advise on the options that suit your premises.
